The Tehuti Maat School (TMT) Setting the foundation for future greatness

The Tehuti Maat School (TMT) is located in Brufut, Gambia. Our program of education is aimed at children in basic school grades 3 to 9 (children aged 6-14 years). We are a small school with a limited amount of pupil spaces each year. Our size means that children are taught in smaller class groups which ensures that we can tailor our curriculum to the needs of our pupils and no child gets left behind. We boast a comfortable and friendly learning environment with excellent equipment and resources.

TMT embraces a progressive education approach that harmonises academics with skills. We believe that diverse learning experiences foster character development and intelligence. Recognising the importance of building confidence, we incorporate personal development classes that empower children to understand themselves better, leverage their strengths, and address their weaknesses. Our holistic approach equips children for academic success, personal growth and resilience in an ever-evolving world.

We use the Cambridge International Curriculum for our academic subjects English, Math and Science. The Cambridge International Curriculum, is a flexible, internationally recognised educational program for students from ages 5 to 19. It's developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education, which is part of the University of Cambridge. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for higher education by providing a clear pathway for educational success from primary through graduation.

We accept new students throughout the year. We invite parents to visit the school with their prospective child(ren) to fill out the application form, which is also available on this site and via email upon request. Every applicant is required to take a formal entry assessment that evaluates their writing, reading, math skills, and overall comprehension. Admission is granted to those children who successfully complete the test, ensuring that they can thrive in our learning environment.

Our staff comprises both local Gambian and international teachers, all of whom bring considerable expertise to their respective fields. We actively support their professional growth through contemporary short courses and tailored in-house training programs, ensuring they remain at the forefront of educational excellence.
